Dr. Arifa Syeda Zehra, renowned Pakistani educationist, passes away

LAHORE: Renowned scholar, researcher, and educationist Dr. Arifa Zahra has passed away in Lahore.

Dr. Arifa Zahra completed her BA Honors at Lahore College for Women University, pursued her Master’s degree from Government College University Lahore, and earned a Doctorate in History from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

She served as the principal of Lahore College for Women University and also chaired the National Commission on the Status of Women.

Dr. Arifa Zahra contributed as a teacher in various educational institutions. Additionally, she was well-known for hosting programs on PTV that revolved around the twelve gates of Lahore.

President expresses grief over death of Arfa Sayeda Zehra


President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of renowned educationist, scholar and writer Arfa Sayeda Zehra.

In his condolence message, he said the death of Dr. Arifa Sayeda Zehra is an irreplaceable loss for Pakistan’s intellectual and literary circles.

The President said Dr. Arifa Sayeda Zehra dedicated her life to knowledge, research and the service of humanity, setting a brilliant example. He said her academic contributions and efforts for the promotion of the national language will always be remembered.

Commiserating with the bereaved family and the academic community, he prayed for the departed soul.
