4 terrorists arrested in Islamabad Judicial Complex suicide attack case

ISLAMABAD: Four members of the Fitna-al-Khawarij group, linked to the suicide attack at Islamabad’s Judicial Complex, were apprehended on Friday.

As per reports, the arrests were carried out during a collaborative operation conducted by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

During questioning, Sajidullah, also known as “Sheena,” responsible for managing the suicide bomber, revealed that TTP/Fitna-al-Khawarij commander Saeed-ur-Rehman, alias Dadullah, who is currently based in Chermang, Bajaur, and operating from Afghanistan, directed him through Telegram to execute the attack in Islamabad. The aim was to inflict significant harm on law enforcement agencies.

Dadullah reportedly shared images of the suicide bomber, Usman, also identified as “Qari,” with Sajidullah to coordinate his reception in Pakistan. Usman, hailing from Achin, Nangarhar in Afghanistan and a member of the Shinwari tribe, was then accommodated by Sajidullah on Islamabad’s outskirts upon his arrival.

Following Dadullah’s instructions, Sajidullah acquired the explosive vest from the Akhun Baba Cemetery in Peshawar and transported it to Islamabad. On the day of the attack, he assisted the bomber in preparing for the mission.

Investigators have confirmed that the TTP leadership in Afghanistan supervised the planning and execution at every stage. All individuals involved in the attack, including the operational commander and his three associates, have now been detained.

Authorities continue to investigate and have cautioned that additional arrests and disclosures are anticipated as part of this case.
