ICC imposes a fine on Babar Azam for violating the code of conduct

LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed a fine equivalent to 10 percent of Pakistani batter Babar Azam’s match fee on Tuesday for violating the Level 1 ICC Code of Conduct.

As detailed in the ICC’s official statement, the 31-year-old was found guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of the code, which pertains to the misuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground fixtures, or fittings during an international match.

In addition to the fine, Babar incurred a demerit point on his disciplinary record.

The incident took place in the 21st over of Pakistan’s innings when Babar struck the stumps with his bat before leaving the crease after being dismissed.
