LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied reports regarding the names of two new teams in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Recent media reports claimed that there was a possibility of finalizing the names of two new teams as Faisalabad and Gilgit for PSL11. However, the PCB clarified that no final decision has been made on the names of the cities for these new teams.
The PCB stated that six names have been shortlisted for bidding purposes, and the successful bidders will have the right to select any of these city names for their team during the bidding process. According to the PCB, the successful bidders will be able to choose from the shortlisted names, which include Faisalabad, Gilgit, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, and Muzaffarabad.
The PCB also mentioned that expressions of interest from all over the world are being solicited for the new teams. The deadline for submitting technical proposals is December 15. The PCB emphasized that the final team names will be decided through a transparent bidding process and that no official announcement regarding the names has been made yet.
