WEB DESK: The international Sikh organization, Sikh for Justice, has dismissed Indian Defense Minister’s recent comments on Sindh as a bluff and has called on Pakistan to open a pathway for Sikh recruitment into its armed forces.
In a statement circulated on social media, Gurtpuneet Singh, a leader of the Sikh for Justice movement, urged Pakistan to consider recruiting Sikh volunteers into the Pakistani military, especially in response to India’s threats to assert control over Sindh.
Singh proposed that Pakistan establish a special list of Sikh volunteers and create a dedicated Sikh defense unit, which should be deployed primarily in Sindh. He emphasized that if Pakistan issues a formal entry protocol, thousands of Sikhs from around the world are willing to enlist.
He also urged Sikh soldiers currently serving in the Indian military to refuse to fight for India, asserting that under international law, soldiers have the right to refuse participation in any conflict based on their conscience.
