World’s largest Markhor sculpture installed in Kaghan Valley

WEB DESK: The world’s largest sculpture of the Markhor, Pakistan’s national animal, has been unveiled in the breathtakingly beautiful Bata Kundi area within Kaghan Valley.

This monumental artwork has been installed at the stunning Shah Daoud Palace site, where it is already captivating tourists with its grandeur.

Reports state that Engineer Muhammad Shehzad, the visionary behind the creation, emphasized that the Markhor represents the region’s majestic nature. The sculpture seeks to underscore its cultural and ecological significance.

Standing an impressive 105 feet tall and spanning 38 feet in width, the colossal piece required five years of dedicated effort to complete. Shehzad expressed hope that this installation will not only boost tourism but also foster greater awareness about conserving the Markhor.

Markhors are celebrated for their distinctive spiral horns—reaching beyond 1.5 meters in males—and their remarkable agility on rugged mountain landscapes. As a defining symbol of Pakistan’s wildlife heritage, their presence highlights the nation’s rich biodiversity.
