ISLAMABAD: Petrol prices in Pakistan are anticipated to drop by up to Rs11.85 per litre in the coming fortnight. The proposal suggests a reduction of Rs11.85 per litre for high-speed diesel, while petrol is expected to see a minimal decrease of 36 paisas per litre. Kerosene oil prices might be reduced by Rs11.70 per litre, and light diesel oil by Rs10.01 per litre.
Insiders revealed that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) plans to submit its price recommendations to the federal government today. Once the prime minister gives approval, the Petroleum Division will formally announce the revised rates.
If implemented, petrol prices are expected to decline to Rs263.09 per litre, while high-speed diesel could be priced at Rs267.80 per litre. Kerosene oil might cost Rs181.16 per litre, and the new price for light diesel oil may be Rs153.76 per litre.
Earlier, on November 30, Pakistan’s government announced a reduction in petroleum prices to provide relief to the public. Petrol rates were lowered by Rs2 per litre, while high-speed diesel prices saw a cut of Rs4.79 per litre, bringing its revised cost to Rs279.65 per litre.
