FAISALABAD: Three workers tragically lost their lives following a fire that engulfed a cotton factory in Faisalabad. As reported by Rescue 1122 officials, the fire erupted at the Allah Tawakul Cotton Factory situated near Chak No. 51-JB Lehlan.
The fire quickly spread, devastating the entire factory premises and consuming all materials within. The incident took place in an area falling under the jurisdiction of Sandal Bar Police Station.
The deceased individuals were identified as Jameel from Layyah, Muhammad Asghar, aged 46, from Chak No. 172, Layyah, and Adnan, aged 25, from Jampur in Rajanpur District.
Rescue 1122 teams arrived promptly at the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze after tireless efforts. The bodies of the three victims were retrieved from the rubble.
In a separate incident earlier, a fire broke out in a coal-laden truck parked along Quetta National Highway in Zhob, Balochistan. The intense blaze resulted in injuries to 16 people, including two firefighters. The flames were visible from a considerable distance.
Fire Brigade personnel responded swiftly to tackle the fire after receiving reports of the emergency. The injured were taken to Zhob District Headquarters Hospital for initial medical aid, with six individuals suffering severe burns later transferred to Quetta for specialized treatment.
