PTI rejects Prime Minister’s Proposal for Talks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially rejected the recent offer of dialogue made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram criticized the government’s stance, describing it as a sign of political desperation and lack of vision. He accused the ruling administration of attempting to manipulate negotiations to confuse the public and cover their weaknesses.

In a statement, Sheikh Waqas Akram remarked that the demand for an apology from PTI is a reflection of the government’s internal turmoil and intellectual decline. He further stated that authorities should refrain from setting preconditions for initiating any talks.

He suggested that the government could establish communication channels with PTI through figures like Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Maulana Raja Nasir Abbas to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing issues.

Sheikh Waqas Akram reaffirmed that PTI remains unwilling to engage in any negotiations with the government, labeling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s offer as insincere and inconsistent. It is important to note that during a recent meeting of the federal cabinet, the government once again extended an invitation to PTI for dialogue.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had mentioned that PTI’s leadership, including its founder, was open to negotiations and that he had previously reached out to PTI leaders for talks. He emphasized that any negotiations should be based on genuine demands and warned that attempts to use dialogue for blackmail would not be tolerated.
