PESHAWAR: The funeral prayers for Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed, who sacrificed his life fighting bravely against Fitna al Khwarij in Khar, Bajaur District, were held at Peshawar Garrison on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by prominent officials including Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Peshawar Corps Commander, along with senior military and civil officers, and members of the public.
During the funeral, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid heartfelt homage to Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed’s ultimate sacrifice. He emphasized that the martyrs of Pakistan Army are the nation’s pride and their valor will always be remembered. He also prayed for the martyr’s elevation in Jannah and for strength and patience for his family.
Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed laid down his life in the line of duty while leading from the front during the ongoing fight against terrorism. The armed forces remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicate extremism and terror, and sacrifices like these reinforce the nation’s resolve.The martyr will be laid to rest with full military honors in his hometown of Dera Ismail Khan.
In a subsequent visit, Field Marshal Munir went to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar to check on the health of injured officers and soldiers involved in the operation. He commended their bravery and resilience during these challenging times.
