WEB DESK: With the T20 World Cup just around the corner, Pakistan’s leading fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has sustained a knee injury while participating in Australia’s Big Bash League, sparking concerns about his availability in the near term.
The injury occurred during Brisbane Heat’s clash with the Adelaide Strikers on Saturday. Sources have indicated that Shaheen experienced prolonged discomfort in his knee for nearly an hour during the match.
The Brisbane Heat confirmed that Shaheen has indeed suffered a knee injury and has already commenced his rehabilitation. Upon the team’s return from Adelaide, further assessments are scheduled to determine the extent of the issue.
The franchise also announced that Shaheen will sit out their upcoming game against the Adelaide Strikers. Team officials emphasized that this decision was made to avoid any potential worsening of his condition.
