NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, stated on Friday that Pakistan has consistently contributed to international peace and security, emphasizing that cooperation between Pakistan and the United States is directed toward maintaining global stability.
While speaking to the media, the ambassador noted that Pakistan’s geographical location places it in a strategically sensitive region, making its longstanding relationship with the United States particularly significant. He said that joint efforts by Islamabad and Washington have historically produced constructive and positive outcomes.
Ambassador Sheikh highlighted a visible improvement in bilateral relations over the past year, attributing this progress to the current leadership of both countries. He pointed out that Pakistan and the United States rank among the world’s five most populous nations, stressing that strong and forward-looking ties between such large populations are essential in the present global environment.
Referring to Pakistan’s success in the May 2025 conflict with India, he said the outcome elevated Pakistan’s international standing and enhanced its global reputation.
He also shared that he is personally engaged in an advisory role within the field of diplomacy. Emphasizing the importance of responsible journalism, Ambassador Sheikh said the media plays a vital role in modern diplomacy. He added that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in the United States are moving in a positive direction and described media professionals as key stakeholders in advancing Pakistan’s diplomatic objectives.
