Pakistan, China reaffirm strategic partnership for peace, prosperity

BEIJING: Pakistan and China have reiterated that their long-standing partnership plays a crucial role in ensuring peace, stability, and shared prosperity at both regional and national levels. 

This view was expressed during the seventh Pakistan–China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue held in Beijing.

According to a spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the dialogue was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Chinese counterpart. The meeting included an in-depth review of all dimensions of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Discussions covered major regional and international developments, along with cooperation in key areas such as the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), trade relations, and collaboration in multilateral forums. Both sides emphasized that the Pakistan–China relationship remains a cornerstone for regional harmony and mutual development.

The two countries agreed to further strengthen coordination and maintain close engagement at both bilateral and multilateral levels. They also decided to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in a meaningful and fitting manner.

In a separate meeting, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Chinese Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang. During the discussion, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China. The Chinese vice premier acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s continued support for China.

The leaders highlighted the significance of the upcoming 75-year milestone in diplomatic ties and agreed to use the occasion to advance cooperation, particularly through the effective and timely implementation of CPEC projects. Vice Premier Ding also conveyed New Year greetings to the government and people of Pakistan.
