ISLAMABAD: Today marks the 12th death anniversary of Aitzaz Hasan, the young martyr who heroically gave his life to prevent a suicide bomber from entering his school in Hangu.
On January 6, 2014, the 15-year-old ninth-grade student became a national symbol of courage by saving hundreds of lives. Faced with an imminent threat, Hasan ran towards the bomber near the school gate and bravely attempted to stop him by grabbing hold of him. Tragically, during the struggle, the explosives detonated, resulting in the deaths of both the attacker and Hasan.
In recognition of his extraordinary bravery and selflessness, Hasan was posthumously awarded a gallantry medal, forever remembered as a true national hero.
