ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered institutions to create a transparent and efficient Ramadan relief package to aid the poor.
During a meeting, the federal government’s proposed package and last year’s relief efforts were reviewed. The Prime Minister acknowledged an audit report showing that the previous package successfully ensured affordable food for citizens through a transparent system.
He urged authorities to explore digital wallets for aid distribution, highlighting the move as progress toward a cashless economy, with support from the State Bank of Pakistan. A digital dashboard and monitoring framework will also be introduced to uphold accountability, transparency, and public dignity.
