CM KP, Sohail Afridi, arrives in Karachi, receives warm welcome from Sindh minister

KARACHI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi reached Karachi on Friday, where he was warmly received by Sindh Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani.

A significant crowd of PTI supporters, including women, gathered at the airport to welcome the chief minister. Saeed Ghani presented Afridi with a traditional ajrak and Sindhi cap as a gesture of hospitality, to which Afridi expressed gratitude for the hearty reception.

After departing from the airport, Afridi led a rally accompanied by party leaders and supporters. Sources indicated that his first destination would be Insaf House, where he is scheduled to meet central and provincial party leaders to discuss political developments and organizational strategies.

The influx of PTI supporters reportedly caused severe traffic congestion on Shahrah-e-Faisal. In parallel, the Sindh government granted PTI permission to hold a public gathering at Jinnah Ground in Karachi, with Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah announcing the decision. Shah assured that Suhail Afridi would be welcomed in Sindh, affirming PTI’s right to engage in peaceful democratic activities, provided no laws were violated.

Over the course of his visit, Afridi is expected to engage with various figures, deliver a press briefing at the Karachi Press Club, travel to Hyderabad, attend an event in Baldia Town, and conclude with his highly anticipated rally at Mazar-e-Quaid on Sunday. However, sources suggest that Karachi traders have declined to meet the chief minister during his stay.
