PESHAWAR: The Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory (PFSL) has finalized its forensic assessment of video footage linked to the May 9 incidents in Peshawar.
The report confirms the appearance of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Kamran Bangash, Taimur Jhagra and Irfan Saleem in the footage related to the events of May 9.
According to officials, the analysis was carried out at the request of Peshawar Police. The material examined consisted of videos stored on a USB device submitted by Police Station Sharqi, Peshawar.
PFSL conducted a frame-by-frame examination of 16 videos. Investigators found no signs of tampering in several clips; however, some videos showed the addition of logos and text overlays.
The report notes that in two videos featuring Sohail Afridi and Irfan Saleem, indications of clip merging were observed. A comparison between Sohail Afridi’s profile photograph and the individual seen in the footage confirmed they are the same person.
Likewise, Irfan Saleem’s profile image was matched with the individual appearing in the videos. The laboratory also verified that the persons shown in the footage correspond to the profile images of Kamran Bangash and Taimur Jhagra.
Authorities clarified that the forensic review was confined solely to visual evidence. The report was compiled between December 19 and December 23, 2025.
The analysis was ordered after the Anti-Terrorism Court sought a detailed report from police in the Radio Pakistan attack case, following which the videos were forwarded to the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory for examination.
