WEB DESK: Global fuel markets witnessed a significant downturn as both petrol and diesel prices declined substantially.
The worldwide price of petrol slipped by $2.74 per barrel, falling from $69.27 to $66.54. Alongside this, the petrol premium saw a reduction of 13 cents per barrel, decreasing from $5.14 to $5.01. Reports also indicate a decline in petrol-related charges, with customs duty reduced by PKR 0.72 per liter and the ex-refinery price falling by PKR 6.51 per liter.
Additionally, the exchange rate adjustment on petrol dropped by PKR 0.68 per liter, pushing the ex-refinery price down from PKR 145.57 to PKR 139.06 per liter.
Diesel prices followed a similar downward trend. The international rate of diesel fell by $2.33 per barrel, moving from $76.32 to $73.99. Diesel customs duty declined by PKR 0.80 per liter, while the exchange adjustment was reduced by PKR 0.35 per liter.
,As a result, the ex-refinery price of diesel decreased by PKR 5.33 per liter, sliding from PKR 155.33 to PKR 149.99 per liter.
