National Paigham-e-Aman committee press briefing at Governor house KP: Unified Religious Rejection of Terrorism

PESHAWAR: The National Paigham-e-Aman Committee convened a press briefing at the Governor House in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, identifying the province as its primary focus due to its prolonged exposure to terrorism. 

Senior religious leaders collectively declared all forms of terrorism to be contrary to Islamic teachings and described Paigham-e-Pakistan as the most powerful symbol of national unity after the Constitution. The committee further announced that Paigham-e-Pakistan Day will be marked across Pakistan this Friday, reaffirming solidarity with the state and the Pakistan Armed Forces.

The press conference was organized at Governor House, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, by the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee.

Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was prioritized because it has suffered the greatest losses due to terrorism.
Paigham-e-Pakistan was recognized as a comprehensive framework of national consensus.

Religious leaders termed it the most authoritative collective document after Pakistan’s Constitution.
The committee categorically rejected any association of terrorism with Islam.
Clerics representing all sects jointly denounced extremist violence.

A collective call for peace, unity, and interfaith harmony was reiterated.

Religious scholars voiced unwavering support for the state and its institutions.

Participants stressed that sustainable peace in Pakistan is linked to stability in Afghanistan.
It was noted that a majority of terrorist activities have cross-border connections.

The committee announced plans to visit regions facing security and peace challenges.
Nationwide observance of Yaum-e-Paigham-e-Pakistan was announced for this Friday.
The committee pledged to continue its active role in promoting peace and cohesion.

Mufti Abdul Rahim stated that backing hostile elements is more dangerous than the actions of the Khawarij.
The struggle against Khawarij-inspired groups was declared legitimate and necessary.

The Pakistan Armed Forces were praised as protectors of peace and Islamic values.

Support for the Armed Forces was described as a moral and religious obligation.
Islam was reaffirmed as a faith rooted in compassion, peace, and mercy.

The unlawful killing of innocent individuals was declared strictly prohibited (haram).

Efforts to counter disorder and extremism were described as Jihad-e-Akbar, the highest form of struggle.
