FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has uncovered a significant scam at a Pasco warehouse in Tandlianwala Tehsil, Faisalabad, where thousands of sacks believed to contain wheat were found to be filled with soil instead.
During a routine inspection of the warehouse inventory, FIA officials discovered that the sacks labeled as wheat actually contained soil, revealing a large-scale theft. Sources indicate that around 2,000 sacks are unaccounted for, with an estimated loss of approximately Rs70 million.
Pasco authorities have confirmed that an inquiry into the incident is currently underway. Legal proceedings are being initiated against those involved, and the FIA has escalated its investigation to uncover the methods used to commit the fraud.
Officials noted that this raid represents a crucial move in tackling corruption and theft within the wheat supply chain, which is vital for maintaining regional food security. Further developments are anticipated as the investigation continues.
