WEB DESK: Police prevented a terrorist attack on a check post in Dera Ismail Khan late Wednesday night, killing two militants in a swift response.
DPO Sahibzada Sajjad Ahmed reported that terrorists targeted the Khatti check post on the city’s outskirts. Police promptly engaged the attackers, stopping their attempt and fatally shooting two on the spot.
One police officer sustained injuries but is now stable after receiving medical attention.
The DPO commended the officers’ bravery and quick action, which averted a potential security crisis. He reiterated the department’s resolve to uphold peace and take decisive action against threats.
Security has been heightened in the area, and a search operation ensured no additional attackers remain.
