WEB DESK: England has posted a target of 211 runs for Pakistan in the first match of the Under-19 World Cup.
The game was played in Harare, where Pakistan won the toss and elected to field. England’s batsmen struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack, and the team was dismissed for 210 runs in the 47th over.
Fellkoner was the highest scorer for England with 66 runs. For Pakistan, Ahmed Hussain claimed 3 wickets, while Ali Raza, Abdul Subhan, and Momin Qamar each took 2 wickets.
Pakistan’s captain, Farhan Yousuf, explained that their decision to bowl first was based on the pitch conditions, and participating in the tri-series helped them adapt and understand the playing surface better.
On the other hand, England’s captain highlighted that their team had won both of their warm-up matches, which boosted their confidence. He also revealed that they plan to field two spinners for the upcoming game.
