RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, held an interactive session with teachers and students at Islamia University Bahawalpur, joined by representatives from various colleges, universities, and religious seminaries.
Addressing the gathering, the DG ISPR acknowledged and appreciated the historic role of the people of Bahawalpur in Pakistan’s struggle for independence and their continued contribution to national stability.
The discussion centered on key issues of national and regional security, the Pakistan Army’s responsibilities in safeguarding the country, and the objectives and progress of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry also highlighted the challenges posed by hostile propaganda campaigns, including those allegedly supported from across the border, and stressed the need to strengthen media literacy among young people to counter misinformation and misleading narratives.
The Vice Chancellor of Islamia University commended the session, describing it as informative and insightful, particularly in explaining Pakistan’s security landscape and national priorities. Participants echoed the importance of developing critical media awareness to help students better understand and respond to evolving information threats.
Concluding the event, attendees expressed appreciation for the Pakistan Army’s steadfast commitment to the country. Students from religious seminaries, in particular, voiced their respect for the Army’s loyalty to the state and the Constitution.
The session concluded on a patriotic note, with students raising enthusiastic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad.”
