KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah reaffirmed his commitment to improving education by prioritizing accessibility, teacher quality, and integrating out-of-school children. He proposed that the Beaconhouse School System manage government schools under a public-private partnership, acknowledging Beaconhouse’s exemplary standards.
Speaking at Beaconhouse’s golden jubilee at its PECHS Campus, he praised its evolution from a small Montessori in 1975 to a global private education network serving over 400,000 students. He lauded Beaconhouse’s leadership and dedication to high-quality, inclusive education while also offering prayers for the Gul Plaza victims and condolences to their families.
Murad applauded Beaconhouse’s commemorative book, “Eik Dafa Ka Zikar Hai” (Once Upon a Time), a two-year project compiling generational stories to promote cultural heritage and national integration.
Founder Chairperson Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri reflected on Beaconhouse’s 50-year journey and highlighted its enduring impact, emphasizing the influence of education in shaping values and fostering responsibility. She noted the institution’s role in projecting a positive image of Pakistan globally and creating opportunities for Pakistanis abroad.
CEO Kasim Kasuri presented sustainability as a core focus, introducing the Green Pakistan initiative to distribute 1.5 million saplings in collaboration with partners. He also emphasized teachers’ contributions, with over 100,000 hours dedicated to training educators from underserved communities.
The event concluded with tributes from alumni and teachers, celebrating Beaconhouse’s legacy and vision for the future.
