WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the draft for the US-initiated ‘Board of Peace’ on Thursday during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The signing ceremony gathered leaders from several countries, including Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, and Armenia, who also endorsed the initiative.
US President Donald Trump expressed gratitude to the nations joining the Board of Peace and noted the growing interest of others. He highlighted the potential for rebuilding Gaza and warned that Hamas must disarm or face elimination.
Trump emphasized America’s role in ending numerous conflicts, claiming the world is now safer and more peaceful. He credited his administration for halting wars between Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, Serbia and Kosovo, and Thailand and Cambodia. He also noted securing a Gaza ceasefire, which enabled relief efforts.
