RAWALPINDI: Security forces eliminated three militants during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched after receiving credible intelligence regarding the presence of armed militants in the area. During the ensuing exchange of fire, three suspects were killed.
The ISPR identified one of the slain militants as a local commander, Farooq, also known by the alias Suro, along with two others named Adil and Wasim. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the scene.
In its statement, the military said the militants were linked to multiple acts of violence in the region. A follow-up clearance operation is currently underway to ensure no remaining elements escape.
The ISPR reaffirmed that security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, remain committed to their counterterrorism drive under the national framework of “Azm-e-Istihkam,” emphasizing their resolve to sustain peace and stability.
