KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon dismissed claims about withdrawing security from MQM-P ministers, calling them baseless and misleading.
He clarified that no MQM-Pakistan leader’s security had been removed and that all entitled individuals were protected under legal protocols. Memon accused MQM-P of spreading false rumors regarding the issue as part of propaganda.
Earlier, Sindh government spokesperson Sumeta Afzal Syed also refuted MQM’s claims, labeling them false and propagandistic.
Addressing the Gul Plaza tragedy, he emphasized that visits to victims’ families should focus on condolence, not political agendas. He announced that compensation cheques were being directly delivered to affected families and warned against misinformation.
He also stated that the Gul Plaza incident’s inquiry report would be released soon, with a possible judicial commission if necessary.
