QUETTA: During an intelligence-based operation in the Pishin district, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel neutralized 10 terrorists, while 10 CTD officers sustained injuries in the ensuing exchange of fire, senior officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Speaking at a joint news conference in Quetta, DIG CTD Aitzaz Goraya reported that the operation led to the seizure of a significant cache of weapons and explosives. Among the recovered items were a rocket launcher, hand grenades, and Kalashnikov rifles.

DIG Goraya highlighted that the militants’ possession of advanced weaponry raised critical concerns, prompting plans for a detailed forensic investigation. He acknowledged the support received from the deputy commissioner of Pishin and his team during the operation.

The DIG expressed grave concern over the presence of such sophisticated arms in terrorist hands and assured that all seized materials would be subjected to forensic analysis. He renewed calls for militants to surrender their weapons and integrate into the national framework, emphasizing that any defiance against the state would be met with uncompromising action.

Special Assistant to the Balochistan Chief Minister, Shahid Rind, who also attended the briefing, issued a stark warning to those challenging state authority. He asserted that the government is fully committed to combatting terrorism and pledged strict action against both militants and their enablers.

Rind stressed that those responsible for fueling terrorism would face justice without exception, reaffirming the state’s unwavering determination to address such threats decisively.
