Faisalabad sees increase in monkeypox cases, two more hospitalised

LAHORE: Monkeypox cases continue to pose a growing threat in Faisalabad as two more individuals suspected of carrying the virus have been moved to the isolation ward within the past 24 hours, according to hospital officials.

Sources within the hospital revealed that the two patients, observed to exhibit monkeypox symptoms, were relocated to isolation following preliminary evaluations. Among the cases are a housewife and a factory worker, underscoring the disease’s impact across diverse societal sectors.

The hospital administration reported a total of 18 confirmed monkeypox cases to date in Faisalabad. Medical personnel remain actively engaged in treating and closely monitoring all admitted patients.

Authorities disclosed the unfortunate death of one patient due to monkeypox complications during treatment, while others continue to receive appropriate medical care. Hospital officials emphasized that established treatment protocols are being rigorously adhered to in efforts to mitigate further issues.

Hospital representatives appealed to the community for heightened vigilance, urging individuals experiencing unexplained fever or body rashes to promptly seek medical assistance for timely diagnosis and intervention.

With suspected cases still surfacing, medical teams are maintaining a state of readiness. Health officials reiterated the importance of early symptom detection in controlling the spread of the virus and minimizing associated health risks.
