CTD operation in Mianwali: 6 terrorists killed, weapons recovered

In a decisive counter-terrorism operation near Chapri Dam, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully took down six high-profile terrorists, dealing a critical blow to regional criminal activities.

According to the CTD spokesperson, the operation initially aimed to apprehend the suspects. However, an exchange of gunfire ensued when the terrorists opened fire on security forces. In the chaos, six among them were killed by gunfire from their own group, effectively dismantling part of their network.

The operation resulted in the recovery of a significant cache of arms and explosives, including a suicide jacket, three grenades, three submachine guns, and approximately 200 rounds of ammunition.

Continuing investigations and pursuit efforts

Despite the success, eight suspected terrorists managed to escape during the raid. Security forces are executing extensive search operations to locate these fugitives and ensure the safety of residents in the vicinity.

Specialized teams have been mobilized to track and apprehend the escapees, underscoring CTD’s dedication to eradicating terrorist threats and restoring peace to the region.

Official remarks and commendation

The CTD spokesperson reiterated that this operation aligns with ongoing efforts to suppress terrorist factions and secure stability in affected areas. Authorities are currently working to confirm the identities of those killed in the operation.

President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed his appreciation for CTD’s successful counter-terrorism interventions, not only in this operation but across Balochistan as well, emphasizing the critical role of such actions in ensuring national security.
