NEPRA approves 28-paisa increase in power tariff

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has sanctioned a rise of 28 paise per unit in electricity rates, linked to the fuel price adjustment for December 2025.

This adjustment, reflecting the fuel expenses for the specified month, will be visible on electricity bills distributed in February 2026. The increase will impact all consumers across the country, including those served by K-Electric.

NEPRA also clarified that certain consumer groups, such as lifeline users and electric vehicle charging stations, are excluded from this tariff hike. The move aims to align electricity prices with current fuel costs while offering relief to specific vulnerable categories.
