ISLAMABAD: Security forces have intensified nationwide operations in the aftermath of the deadly suicide bombing in Islamabad, aiming to track down all individuals connected to the attack and prevent any further security breaches.

Sources confirmed that several close relatives and alleged facilitators of the suicide bomber, Yasir, son of Bahadur Khan, have been taken into custody. The bomber’s brother-in-law was arrested during a raid in Karachi, while his brother was detained by authorities in Peshawar.

Meanwhile, a key facilitator linked to the attack was killed in an encounter in Nowshera. In a major breakthrough, law enforcement officials also arrested the bomber’s mother from a residence located in one of Islamabad’s upscale sectors. She has been moved to an undisclosed location for questioning.

Officials said the ongoing crackdowns are part of a broader strategy to dismantle terror networks and neutralize any remaining threats. Investigations are continuing, and further developments are expected.

The suicide attack, which occurred a day earlier at an Imambargah in Islamabad’s Tarlai area, claimed the lives of 31 people, while over 160 others sustained injuries, according to initial reports.
