Section 144 Extended in Rawalpindi for Another 15 Days

RAWALPINDI: Authorities in Rawalpindi have prolonged the enforcement of Section 144 for an additional fifteen days, extending the restrictions until February 21.

A notification issued by the district administration stated that the decision was taken following recommendations from the District Intelligence Committee.

Under the continued restrictions, all forms of public gatherings including rallies, protests, sit-ins, meetings, and processions remain prohibited. The order also bars the assembly of more than five individuals.

In addition, the notification enforces a ban on the public display of weapons and the use of loudspeakers. Authorities have also outlawed hate speech along with any provocative or inflammatory remarks.

The possession or use of items such as sticks, slingshots, ball bearings, and petrol bombs has likewise been forbidden. Officials warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating Section 144.
