Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Commit to Strengthening Security, Counterterrorism Cooperation

RIYADH:  Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to deepen their collaboration in security and counterterrorism efforts, according to an official statement. The development follows a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, and Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf in Riyadh.

The discussions highlight the ongoing strengthening of defense and security relations between the two nations. Last year, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia formalized their military partnership through a bilateral defense agreement, which marked a significant upgrade from previous collaborations. The pact underscores their mutual commitment to consider any act of aggression against one as a threat to the other.

Chaudhry emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue and cooperation, stating, “Sustained engagement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is vital for regional peace and stability.” The meeting also resulted in a consensus to bolster joint efforts in security and counterterrorism initiatives.

In addition to his diplomatic engagements, Chaudhry represented Pakistan at the World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh a prominent international event that gathers governments, armed forces, and defense industry leaders from around the world.

On the occasion of the visit, the Pakistani delegation conveyed warm greetings from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to Saudi officials, especially as the holy month of Ramadan approaches later this month.
