WEB DESK: India’s T20 World Cup campaign hit a hurdle as opener Abhishek Sharma was hospitalized with a stomach infection, casting doubt over his availability for the match against Namibia.
Sharma, who had health issues before facing the United States, was admitted to a Delhi hospital after his condition worsened. High fever prompted immediate use of drips, with medical tests ongoing to pinpoint the issue.
Amid his absence, Sharma missed practice at Arun Jaitley Stadium, creating uncertainty in India’s batting lineup. To maintain balance, Washington Sundar has been brought in as his replacement for the Namibia clash.
