ISLAMABAD: Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (Retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa sustained injuries after a fall at his residence early Tuesday morning, family sources have confirmed. He has been hospitalized for treatment.
According to reports, General Bajwa slipped and fell while in the washroom around 4:30 am. The accident resulted in injuries to multiple areas, including a head injury. He was quickly transported to a nearby medical facility for urgent care.
At present, sources indicate that Bajwa is under medical supervision in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where doctors are closely observing his condition. No official medical updates have been issued by the hospital authorities yet.
Qamar Javed Bajwa served as Pakistan’s Army Chief from 2016 until November 2022. His appointment was made by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and his term was extended for an additional three years during the tenure of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
