KARACHI: The Sind provincial government has initiated plans to introduce a ‘Youth Card’ designed to expand access to opportunities for the youth across the province. The Sports Department has been tasked with developing a framework for the scheme.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting held at the Sind Secretariat, chaired by Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, the Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs.
Attendees included Sports Secretary Munawar Ali Mahesar, Director Asad Ishaq, Chief Engineer Muhammad Aslam Mehar, along with other senior officials. During the session, a comprehensive briefing on the concept of the ‘Youth Card’ and its potential implementation was provided.
Minister Mahar emphasized the importance of designing a mechanism that maximizes benefits for young residents of Sind. He instructed the Sports Secretary to ensure that the scheme is inclusive, allowing a broad segment of eligible youth to benefit from it.
The Minister also indicated that the ‘Youth Card’ is expected to be launched before June this year, following directives from PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The initiative aims to facilitate young people in accessing educational opportunities, skill development programs, employment prospects, scholarships, and sports facilities, ultimately fostering youth empowerment across the province.
