ISLAMABAD: The entire nation remains in mourning following the tragic suicide blast at an Islamabad imambargah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated on Wednesday. He emphasized the nation’s grief and solidarity with the victims and their families.
In a statement, the Prime Minister announced financial support for those affected by the devastating attack, which occurred during Friday prayers at Khadijah al-Kubra Imambargah, resulting in at least 37 fatalities and over 150 injuries.
He declared a compensation package of Rs10 million for Shaheed Oun Abbas, who bravely resisted the suicide bomber, and Rs5 million for each of the other martyrs. Additionally, Rs3 million was announced for individuals with severe injuries, and Rs1 million for those with minor wounds.
During his visit to the site, PM Shehbaz expressed profound sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, stating that no amount of compensation can truly replace the precious lives taken.
He offered prayers for the high ranks of the martyrs and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. The Prime Minister also paid visits to the families of the deceased and the injured, offering condolences and support.
The nation, united in grief, continues to stand with the victims and their families in this difficult time.
