ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship KHAIBAR, a newly commissioned and advanced vessel, embarked on its maiden voyage from Türkiye to Pakistan and made a port call at Aksaz Naval Base in Turkey. During its visit, the ship participated in Exercise TURGUTREIS-XIII and conducted joint patrols with Turkish Navy vessels.
While at Aksaz, the Commanding Officer of PNS KHAIBAR met with the Turkish Southern Sea Area Commander. The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral naval cooperation and promoting regional stability through collaborative initiatives. Additionally, senior Turkish naval officials, including the Commander of Aksaz Naval Base and the Southern Sea Area Commander, paid a courtesy visit aboard PNS KHAIBAR.
Following the port visit, PNS KHAIBAR took part in the bilateral maritime exercise TURGUTREIS-XIII alongside Turkish Navy ship TCG HEYBELIADA and a Turkish Naval Forces SH-70 helicopter. The exercise involved various tactical maneuvers aimed at improving joint operational capabilities and interoperability. After the exercise, PNS KHAIBAR and TCG HEYBELIADA conducted a Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) in the Eastern Mediterranean to further strengthen maritime security cooperation.
The successful execution of the TURGUTREIS-XIII exercise and CORPAT underscores the strong strategic partnership and enduring brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye.
