Ambulance carrying wounded security personnel set ablaze in Karak terror attack

KARAK:  In a horrifying act of brutality, militants attacked and set fire to a rescue ambulance carrying injured personnel of the Federal Constabulary in the Qila Shahidan area of Karak, resulting in the martyrdom of three wounded officers.

According to details, militants launched a quadcopter attack on a Federal Constabulary post earlier in the day. Following the assault, two ambulances from Rescue 1122 arrived at the scene to evacuate the injured.

While returning with the wounded personnel, both ambulances came under attack. One ambulance was set ablaze with the injured officers inside, burning them alive. The second ambulance managed to escape safely with its passengers.

The ambulance driver and a Rescue 1122 staff member also sustained burn injuries in the attack.

Martyred Personnel Identified

The officers who embraced martyrdom in the tragic incident have been identified as:

Soldier Murad Gul (District Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

SoldierAyan Khan (District Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

Lance Naik Adil Khan (District Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

Injured Personnel

Those injured in the attack include:

Havaldar Sabir s/o Hakim Shah

Muhammad Yousaf s/o Sharbat Khan

Hanif s/o Gul Zareen

Ambulance driver Ahmad Hussain

All injured individuals, who are residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have been shifted to hospitals in Bannu and Karak for medical treatment.

Deliberate Targeting of the Wounded

The attackers reportedly filmed the entire incident and circulated the footage on social media, apparently intending to spread fear and panic among the public.

Targeting medical evacuation vehicles and wounded personnel is widely condemned under international humanitarian norms and Islamic principles alike. Even in times of war, attacking the injured and medical responders is strictly prohibited.

Security sources have vowed that operations against militant elements will continue until the complete elimination of such threats.

Further investigations into the attack are underway.
