WASHINGTON: U.S. officials have stated that the vessel is completely safe and continues its operational activities as normal.
Following recent airstrikes, Iran has claimed that it also carried out a naval attack against the United States. According to Iran, it targeted America’s most powerful naval vessel, the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, a claim that has been denied by United States Central Command.
A U.S. official told Al Jazeera that the Iranian missile strike did not hit the USS Abraham Lincoln and that the aircraft carrier continues to conduct operations without interruption.
According to the U.S. official, the Iranian missile did not even reach the ship and caused no damage.
Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had claimed that it targeted the USS Abraham Lincoln with four ballistic missiles.
However, U.S. authorities maintain that the ship remains fully secure and continues its routine operational activities.
