ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Indonesia have jointly expressed their serious worries regarding the worsening situation in the Middle East.
The statement was made during a phone call between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. The Prime Minister strongly condemned Israel’s recent strikes on Iran, along with the subsequent attacks on other Gulf nations, describing them as deeply regrettable.
He also updated the Indonesian President on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to engage with various Gulf countries in response to the ongoing crisis.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of urging all involved parties to demonstrate maximum restraint and committed to promoting peaceful solutions through meaningful dialogue and diplomatic channels to address existing disagreements.
Additionally, during their conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed President Prabowo on the latest developments concerning Afghanistan. The two leaders agreed to keep in close contact in the coming days to coordinate their efforts.
