UAE air defenses neutralize 6 ballistic missiles,125 Iranian drones

ABU DHABI: Defense authorities in the UAE reported today that their air defense systems intercepted and destroyed six out of seven ballistic missiles launched towards the country, with one missile reaching land within UAE territory. The systems also detected 131 drones, successfully intercepting 125 of them, while six drones fell inside the UAE.

According to an official statement from the Ministry of Defense, since the onset of Iranian missile activity, a total of 196 ballistic missiles have been identified. Out of these, 181 were intercepted, 13 fell into the sea, and two impacted within UAE borders. Additionally, the UAE’s defenses detected 1,072 Iranian drones, with 1,001 successfully neutralized, and 71 drones landing inside the country. The military also identified and destroyed eight cruise missiles.

These hostilities caused three fatalities among Pakistani, Nepali, and Bangladeshi nationals, and resulted in 94 minor injuries among individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, and Turkish communities.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the UAE remains vigilant and fully prepared to counter any future threats. It reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty, security, and national interests, and to responding decisively to any attempts to undermine the country’s stability.
