KARACHI: Sindh’s senior minister, Sharjeel Memon, formally introduced a new electric bus route in Karachi on Tuesday, stretching from Gulshan Maymaar to Tower.
The inauguration took place during a ceremony attended by prominent officials including Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Deputy Mayor Salman Murad, MNA Shahida Rehmani, and others.
During the event, Memon highlighted that work on the Shahrah-e-Bhutto project is on track to be completed by April 30. He also praised ongoing efforts to improve the city’s infrastructure, water, and sanitation services, emphasizing Mayor Wahab’s dedication to Karachi’s development.
The provincial minister expressed his commitment to expanding the electric bus network across every street, neighborhood, and district of Karachi. “We are proud to introduce the region’s first pink electric buses,” he said.
Memon also announced plans to add more buses to districts like Shikarpur, Khairpur, and Tando Allahyar after Eid, aiming to enhance public transportation accessibility in these areas.
