Iran dismisses US 48-hour deadline, vows harsh response to escalation

TEHRAN: Iran has rejected a 48-hour deadline issued by the United States, cautioning that any intensification of hostilities would have serious consequences for both America and Israel across the region.

Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned that further aggression would be met with a powerful and far-reaching response. He said efforts to overpower Iran have instead become a “quagmire” that could ensnare its opponents.

At the same time, Donald Trump has renewed his stance, giving Tehran a 48-hour window to either strike a deal or restore access to the key Strait of Hormuz, or face significant repercussions.

The Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil supplies and maritime trade, has seen disruptions amid rising tensions and recent confrontations involving Iran.
