LAHORE: The Punjab government has rejected the proposal to close markets at 8 PM. According to sources, the recommendations presented to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz were not approved.
Sources within the Punjab Assembly indicated that there was an agreement to keep markets open until 10 PM across the province. The suggestion to close markets earlier has been deferred for now, with further consultations planned regarding the revised timings. Discussions are ongoing with trader organizations and business representatives regarding the new schedule.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stated that consultations with traders are still underway. He mentioned that traders have some objections to closing markets at 8 PM, and talks are ongoing to address their concerns. Once the consultations are complete, the federal government will be informed about the final decision.
