ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Doha after concluding his official visit to Saudi Arabia, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Thursday.
The PMO stated that the prime minister will hold a bilateral meeting in Doha with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to discuss matters of mutual interest.
According to PMO, a meeting between Shehbaz Sharif and Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah lasted for nearly two hours, during which both leaders held detailed discussions on the evolving regional situation.
The statement said the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity and support for Saudi Arabia in light of rising regional tensions. He also praised the Kingdom’s patience and restraint in the current circumstances.
Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that the people of Pakistan stand firmly with their Saudi brothers, adding that the Saudi leadership serves as an example for all peace-loving nations. The Saudi crown prince, in turn, appreciated the constructive role played by the prime minister and Pakistan’s military leadership in ongoing peace efforts.
The prime minister also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Pakistan’s economic stability.
Both leaders further reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation in defense and security, as well as enhancing their long-standing strategic partnership.
The prime minister arrived in Medina, where he was received by Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, PMO statement read. He later visited Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, where he offered prayers for Pakistan’s progress and for global peace and harmony.
According to the PMO, special arrangements were made for the prime minister and his delegation to visit the Prophet’s Chamber, where he presented salutations and respects.
