LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has designated July as the target date for the completion of 27 new convenience markets throughout Punjab. She made this announcement during a meeting held in Lahore today.
During the session, it was also revealed that thirteen “Sahulat on-the-go” markets are planned to be established in various districts. Officials briefed the Chief Minister that approximately 1,300 new businesses will be launched as part of this initiative, generating over 600 direct employment opportunities and benefiting more than 90 million residents annually.
Additionally, shopkeepers will receive free electricity and sanitation services, and around 53 million rupees are expected to be saved each year through centralized CCTV security systems. The Chief Minister emphasized that the project is aimed at offering affordable, high-quality goods in a clean, family-friendly setting.
