Saudi Arabia prohibits children under 15 from performing Hajj this year

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has announced an immediate restriction on children under the age of 15 from participating in this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, including those from Pakistan.

The Saudi government has formally communicated this decision to relevant authorities, including Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and private Hajj operators, through official notifications.

In response, the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) has confirmed that from May 3, 2026, children below 15 will no longer be permitted to travel for Hajj. The authority also revealed that visas issued to these children are being canceled, and Saudi officials have assured that all paid amounts will be refunded.

Additionally, the PAA has directed all officials to prevent children under 15 from boarding Hajj flights. The Pakistan Airport Authority has also advised airlines to refrain from issuing tickets to children under this age group for Hajj travel.
