SHIKARPUR: Station House Officer (SHO), Ali Hassan Jatoi, died after sustaining gunshot wounds.
The fatal incident took place near Phatak No. 2, close to Lakhi Ghulam Shah tehsil. Police officials explained that a misunderstanding led to the initial confrontation, as the Lakh Ghulam Shah police signaled for the SHO’s private vehicle to stop.
When the SHO did not halt his car, police opened fire, injuring him critically. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Following the shooting, Incharge Jahan Khan and Police Post Javed Bilali fled the scene with their accomplices, leaving authorities to investigate.
Investigators later recovered identification documents and other evidence from the crime scene. SSP Kaleem Malik announced that an inquiry committee has been formed under ASP Asif’s supervision to look into the matter and is currently conducting investigations.
